PURPOSE: A compatible CD-RW format system is provided to support various format ways by excluding the danger of analyzing CD-RW file formats of total manufacturers and using format applications provided by respective manufacturers. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises a plurality of clients, a server and a robot. In the server, a format application setting module(152) sets a format application to be driven in the client. A format check module(153) receives reference data for checking a failure status. A communication path check module(154) checks respective communication path between the server and respective clients. A format work setting module(155) sets the contents of a format work to be performed in respective clients. A display module(158) displays the work contents of a client being formatted. An alarm module(157) alarms errors generated during format works in respective clients. A control module(151) controls operations between respective modules.
