PURPOSE: A rotary arc generating apparatus is provided to obtain a high welding rate by accelerating the melting rate of an electrode due to a centrifugal force caused by rapid rotation of the electrode. CONSTITUTION: A wire guide and a welding body in a rotary arc generating apparatus are connected via a gear, and rotated by a motor connected to a cable. A welding tip connected to the wire guide is worked to have the eccentricity about the central axis to enable rotation at least 3000rpm. A welding line tracking controller maintains rotation of a torch at a uniform velocity, and includes a motor drive for driving a slide at each axis and a microprocessor for realizing a welding line tracking algorithm. Three PMW(pulse width modulation) pulses are generated from the microprocessor for controlling three DC motors. The microprocessor uses a 10 bit A/D converter to detect a voltage value corresponding to an output signal of a current sensor for realization of the welding line tracking algorithm.
