PURPOSE: A method for testing inter-office trunk lines using a computer is provided to execute an inter-office trunk line test for TDX series exchanges not having the inter-office trunk line test function by using a computer through a responder and an exchange MMC(Man Machine Command). CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for testing inter-office trunk lines using computer selects an inter-office trunk line destination responder telephone number(21). The apparatus calls the telephone number(24). In case that the telephone call is incomplete, the apparatus detects silence, a busy tone or an all trunk busy tone(26). The apparatus outputs the location and status of the inter-office trunk line to the exchange through an MMC(27). The apparatus receives a confirmation result from the exchange and analyzes it(28). The apparatus records the location and status of the inter-office trunk line(29).
