PURPOSE: A thermal insulating material using charcoal is provided to control the thermal insulation, soundproof and humidity degrees of a room by forming a thermal insulating material with charcoal having reduction action and strong adsorption force. CONSTITUTION: A thermal insulating material(100) using charcoal includes a steel frame(30) in the shape of rectangle, charcoal(40) formed of rice hulls to be filled inside of the steel frame, and non-woven fabric(50) enclosing the outside of the steel frame for preventing the charcoal from escaping from the steel frame to the outside, wherein fine pores of the charcoal absorb the moisture in the atmosphere for maintaining the humidity of a room properly, and harmful bacteria and dirty substances are absorbed by the reduction action of the charcoal but to emit cleaned moisture to the room, thereby purifying the room atmosphere.
