PURPOSE: An electronic library system is provided to allow users having a personal digital assistant to read a desired book whenever and wherever by storing desktop published books in a particular small-sized memory unit such as a compact disk or memory stick. CONSTITUTION: A book contents memory unit(10) stores general contents of a book. A driving unit(20) drives the book contents memory unit(10) for reading the contents. A display unit(30) displays the contents of the book read by the driving unit(20) so that a user can check the same. A page display unit(40) displays a page that is currently displayed. A control signal input unit(50) inputs a control signal required for the operation of the system by the user. A microcomputer(60) controls the overall operation of the system according to the control signal of the control signal input unit(50).
