Device for biological water treatment with rotating contact bodies

A waste water treatment plant consists of a heat-insulated basin with a water inlet and outlet on opposite sides. The basin contains one or more height-adjustable semi-submerged horizontal power rotated cylinders (5) or prisms rotating on a shaft (4). The end of each cylinder has an endplate (6) and a fixed link shaft (7) to the adjacent cylinder (5). Each cylinder contains a substance (5) with a multitude of parallel passages passing from one face of the cylinder to the other. The surfaces of the cylinder and passages bears a colony of microorganisms.
