APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONVERTING DATA TRANSFER PROTOCOL IN SUPERVISORY CONTROL AND DATA ACQUISITION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for converting a data transfer protocol in a SCADA(Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) system is provided so that data can mutually be exchanged between a central control computer and remote equipments using different data transfer protocols. CONSTITUTION: Executing a standby state(30), an upper-level protocol analyzer judges whether a SCADA server is in a connected state(31). In case that the SCADA server is in the connected state, the protocol analyzer receives a request packet from the SCADA server(32). The protocol analyzer verifies the received request packet(33). Based on an analyzed result, the protocol analyzer searches for and detects the data received from a star coupler or an MU(Majority Unit) and stored in a receiving buffer(34). Then the protocol analyzer transmits the detected data to the SCADA server(35). The protocol analyzer judges whether connection with the SCADA server comes to an end(36).
