Colored coated electrode usefull in arc welding and process for its manufacture

A coated fusible electrode (1) for electric arc welding is made from a central core (2) surrounded by at least one peripheral coating (3). At least a part of the coating (3) contains a mineral coloring constituent, chosen from iron, chromium, cobalt oxides or their mixtures, or at least one organic coloring constituent. After drying and/or firing this mineral or organic coloring constituent confers a co lour to at least a part of the coating. An Independent claim is included for the production of the above coated fusible electrode.
