A bin (1) for holding rubbish for collection that includes a lid (7) and wheels, where there is included a step (16), a lever arm (17) and a push rod (26) so that with depression of the step by a user the push rod can be pushed through an aperture in a rim (6) of the bin and effect an opening of the bin. The invention also extends to a kit of parts for this purpose.
