PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a high quality biaxially oriented film having minute protrusions in a high density homogeneously on the surface of the film and excellent in electromagnetic transducing characteristics, traveling durability, traveling characteristics of the magnetic head, or the like, used for a magnetic recording medium. SOLUTION: The biaxially oriented film comprises a polymer alloy essentially comprising a thermoplastic resin except a polyester (polymer 1) and a polyester (polymer 2), and 1-90 millions of minute protrusions having a protrusion height of 2-50 nm on at least one surface thereof. |
