PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove residual bubbles left in a region covered with a movable member of a liquid channel. SOLUTION: The liquid discharge head includes a discharge opening 7 for discharging a liquid, the liquid channel 3 communicating with the discharge opening 7, a liquid supply port 5 communicating with the liquid channel 3 and a common liquid supply chamber 6 for storing the liquid to be supplied to the liquid channel 3, a heating unit 4 for generating bubbles to the liquid filled in the liquid channel 3, and the movable member 8 set to the liquid channel 3 in a state with the side of the discharge opening 7 being securely supported as a free end 8B via a gap to the liquid supply port 5. The movable member has a larger projection region than an open region of the liquid supply port 5. The movable member 8 closes and substantially blocks the liquid supply port 5 by driving the heating unit 4 thereby generating bubbles. The movable member 8 has a communication port 8C formed near a fulcrum 8A of the opposite side to the free end 8B to connect the liquid supply port 5 with the liquid channel 3. |
