PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device for contaminated soil, capable of cleaning the contaminated soil in a state occupying a limited installation space and of being installed by dropping work, and to provide a cleaning method for the contaminated soil. SOLUTION: This cleaning device for the contaminated soil comprises a well 2 dug into the contaminated soil, a treatment chamber 8 installed in the well 2 to clean contaminated gas, an intake port 12 installed to one end of the treatment chamber 8 to such the contaminated gas, an exhaust port 13 installed to the other end of the treatment chamber 8 to discharge purified gas outside, a separation chamber covering the treatment chamber 8 to separate the contaminated gas from moisture, and sealing means 16, 17, 18 to airtightly seal the upper part of the well 2.
