HEAT SENSITIVE PRINTING PLATE PRECURSOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithographic printing plate precursor for giving a printing plate to give an image having no background stain by exhibiting high resistance in a printing machine as exposed as an image by a high intensity laser beam and exhibiting food image dissecting. SOLUTION: The lithographic printing plate precursor contains an electrochemically polished aluminum substrate. The polished surface of the substrate is coated with an oxide of a gel-like noncrystalline colloidal aluminum for generally introducing metal aluminum of a lower level than 5% and an intermetallic aluminum alloy and a hydroxide as well as their hydrate layers. These layers are manufactured during an electrochemically polishing step.
