FILLING APPARATUS FOR GRANULAR SUBSTANCE INTO HOLLOW LONG MEMBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically fill granular substances into a cavity of a spacer while the spacer can be kept with hollow long members stacked without need of arranging the members on a table in the same direction when a corner key is fitted into one of ends of the hollow long members of the spacer or the like for double glazing and a desiccant is filled from an opening on the other end. SOLUTION: The filling apparatus comprises a supply means for supplying the granular substances in a tank to an open/close part provided on a lower supply port and a holding means which can be inserted into a lower opening of a cylindrical part communicated with the open/close part for tightly holding a plurality of the bound hollow long members by the cylindrical part. The holding means comprises a doughnut-shaped rubber tube inscribed in a ring member wherein the rubber tube is swollen by increasing a pneumatic pressure in the rubber tube to have its inner diameter reduced, thereby holding the long members.
