PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly control the temperature of a cooking container in a hot plate. SOLUTION: Temperature of the cooking container 16 is detected by a temperature sensor 12 abutted on a bottom surface of the cooking container 16 to control heating of the cooking container 16. A projection 22 is formed just on the temperature sensor 12 and on an upper surface within the cooling container 16. As a result lowering of a temperature due to a food material is difficult to be transmitted from the cooking container 16 to the temperature sensor 12, even if the food material is placed just on the temperature sensor 12 to prevent excessives easy sensing of lowering of the temperature by the temperature sensor 12.
