PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that conventional rice cakes have limits to uses of dishes and even nutritive values because the conventional rice cakes are prepared from glutinous rice or a rice starch. SOLUTION: This innovative versatile cheese rice cake is obtained by kneading and heating steamed potatoes together with a cheese and a potato starch prepared without using the glutinous rice or the rice starch at all and without using water, thereby creating texture and taste of the rice cake and providing a unique rice cake especially containing nutrients, vitamins A, B2 and C, minerals, phosphorus and potassium absent in a conventional rice cake and capable of remarkably developing the field of dishes and sense of nutritive values. A dough of the universal rice cake is used to open up the field of utilization to an innumerable extent such as Kushi-dango (rice cake dumplings speared on a bamboo stick), Tako-yaki-like Mochi-dako (griddle-cooked rice cake dumplings with bits of octopus), a Shao-mai-like rice cake Shao-mai, a fried rice cake prepared by wrapping a lobster, etc., with the dough of the rice cake in place of a coating of Tempura and frying the wrapped lobster, etc., or placed in a food served in the pot and rice cake noodles obtained by forming the dough into noodles. |
