PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an aqueous resin emulsion where the resin is hardly deteriorated even under exposure to natural light over a ling period of time. SOLUTION: A method for producing an aqueous emulsion features that both of a polymer which has one or more functional groups excellent in trapping an active radical and/or functional groups capable of absorbing ultraviolet rays in a molecule and has a number average molecular weight of >=1,000 and a radically polymerizable monomer are emulsified and dispersed in an aqueous medium in the presence of a surfactant in such a way as to a obtain an emulsified and dispersed system where an average particle diameter of an emulsified particle is not larger than 1μm and then the system is dropped into an aqueous medium under a heated condition in order to polymerize the radically polymerizable monomer in the emulsified particle where the polymer coexists.
