PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clarify effect of 5-S-GAD (N-β-alanyl-5-glutathionly-3,4- dihydroxyphenylalanine) on formation of an osteoclast and the effect of the 5-S-GAD on cell apoptosis. SOLUTION: This apoptosis inducer and an inhibitor for formation of the osteoclast include the 5-S-GAD, its functional derivative or its pharmaceutically permissible salt as the active ingredient.
