PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a titanium oxide photocatalyst body which is fixed with titanium oxide (fine particle powder) utilized as a photocatalyst without being peeled and dislodged from its holding member and is not affected by an alkali oxide and corrosion soluble materials. SOLUTION: When the titanium oxide (TiO2) as the photocatalyst is fixed to the holding member, the photocatalyst is divided to two layers, an upper layer and a lower layer and the material of the segment constituting the lower layer comprises a mixture composed of the titanium oxide as a chief material, a compound containing phosphorus(P), calcium(Ca) and silicon(Si) in addition thereto and a suitable volume of water. The material of the segment constituting the upper layer comprises the titanium oxide, a trace amount of catalyst activation accelerating material and an adequate amount of moisture.
