PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double bearing type reel for fishing capable of applying a stable braking force and comprising a device of a simple structure for preventing the backlash assembled therein. SOLUTION: This double bearing type reel for fishing is capable of rotatably supporting a spool between both side plates of a reel body and winding and holding a fishing line on the spool and further equipped with the device 70 for preventing the backlash for applying the braking force in order to prevent the overspeed of the spool in a state of releasing the fishing line such as during the casting of terminal tackles. The device 70 for preventing the backlash is provided with a means 100 for producing the braking force attached to the reel body and a holding member 80 rotatable integrally with the spool, supported movably in the spool shaft direction and holding braking members 90. The holding member 80 is equipped with a moving means formed so as to move the braking members 90 toward the means 100 for producing the braking force by a wind pressure. The braking force is controlled by a change in the wind pressure received by the moving means according to the rotational speed of the spool.
