METHOD FOR PRODUCING D-PHENYLALANINE OR D-TYROSINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for the production of D-phenylalanine or D- tyrosine with microorganism or microbial enzyme in high efficiency and yield on an industrial scale at a low cost. SOLUTION: D-phenylalanine or D-tyrosine is produced by treating phenylalanine containing mixed D and L isomers or tyrosine containing mixed D and L isomers with a cultured product of microorganism belonging to the genus Micrococcus, Sarcina or Sporosarcina or its treated product to effect the preferential asymmetric decomposition of L-phenylalanine or L-tyrosine and separating and collecting the remaining D-phenylalanine or D-tyrosine.
