PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum type washing machine with excellent washing performance. SOLUTION: When a control device 55 of the washing machine detects that the water lever in a water tub is lower than a set level, it judges whether a bath water using mode is set or not. At the time, when the bath water using mode is set, a water supply pump is operated to supply bath water up to the set level in the water tub. When the bath water using mode is not set, a water supply valve is operated to supply service water up to the set level in the water tub. Therefore, as the operation of the washing machine with reduced water level is not to be continued, deterioration of the washing performance is prevented.
