PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dot matrix printer having variable print density which can deal with high speed printing through a simple arrangement. SOLUTION: The dot matrix printer 1 for printing a font of character figure by outputting print data related to dots constituting the font to a print head 7 every time when a clock signal is outputted comprises means 19 for temporarily storing the print data outputted every time when a clock signal is outputted, means 20 for setting the number of times of operation for outputting the same print data repeatedly to the print head 7, and means 21 for outputting the print data stored in the print data storing means 19 repeatedly to the print head 7 by the number of times set in a number of repeating times storing means 16 within a specified period after output of some clock signal before output of next clock signal. |
