PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new DNA encoding a glutamate receptor protein having characteristic electrophysiological and pharmacological properties. SOLUTION: The glutamate receptor is represented by Glu R1, Glu R2, Glu R3, Glu R4, Glu R5, Glu R6 and Glu R7 of typical cDNA clones, these fragments and functional combinations of these glutamate receptor proteins and/or fragments. The DNA sequence obtained from Glu R1, Glu R2, Glu R3, Glu R4 and Glu R5 of cDNA clones is useful particularly as a probe. By the DNA sequence, other members belonging to an L-glutamate receptor group can be identified without excessive experiments. |
