PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving the offensive smell of a sugarcane extract by adding vegetable essential oil and/or essence to the sugarcane extract. SOLUTION: In the method for improving the offensive smell of the sugarcane extract, the vegetable essential oil and/or essence is compounded with the sugarcane extract to improve the peculiar smell of the sugarcane extract itself without reducing the original excellent capacity of the sugarcane extract. Therefore, the sugarcane extract improved in its offensive smell is used as food or a deodorant to enable a user to satisfy the use feeling of the extract.
