PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a molding by a method wherein a cylindrical molding is easily formed in one molding step by a pulp molding process in such a manner that an insert component such as a mount seat is held integrally to the molding. SOLUTION: A paper making liquid wherein single fibers are dispersed is filled into a cavity of a water-permeable mold, on the inner periphery of which an insert component is held, to attach the single fibers onto the inner periphery of the mold, whereby a cylindrical wet molding is formed, which molding is dried to provide a cylindrical molded item. As a result, a cylindrical molding in which the insert component is buried can be easily formed.
