摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polyester fiber that has excellent mechanical properties, when the fiber is produced, is deeply dyeable under boiling at an atmospheric pressure and manifests excellent anti-pilling properties, and provide a method of producing the polyester to be used for the polyester fiber. SOLUTION: The objective polyester fiber is produced from a polyester that mainly comprises aromatic dicarboxylic acid and alkylene glycol as basic components, further includes 0.5-1.5 mol.%, based on the total acid components, of a phosphorus-containing compound having a specific chemical structure and 5-15 mol.%, based on the whole acid components, of a 1-10C aliphatic hydroxycarboxylic acid component, as the copolymerization components, and has the intrinsic viscosity of 0.45-0.80. This fiber can retain >=90% of the intrinsic viscosity after 60-minute treatment with boiling water and has 60-90 deg.C of the temperature at the maximum loss tangent in the frequency of 10 Hz.
