PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a long chain unsaturated primary amine having a low pour point from a long chain unsaturated aliphatic nitrile. SOLUTION: This method for producing the unsaturated aliphatic primary amine, containing hydrogenating a 16 to 22C unsaturated aliphatic nitrile in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst and ammonia, characterized by carrying out the hydrogenation reaction in the presence of an aromatic or aromatic carboxamide.
