PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polisher and a polishing method capable of performing simple and highly accurate polishing, and a magnetic head manufactured by this polishing method. SOLUTION: This polisher equipped with a rotary surface plate used to polish a work is further equipped with a moving means 210 for vertically moving the work relative to a polishing surface of the surface plate and a regulating means 230 for regulating the vertical movement of the work.
