PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling water supply structure of a roll assembly which does not damage bearings for supporting rolls. SOLUTION: The roll assembly 1 which freely rotatably supports the roll 2 having a cooling water passage 2h penetrating the roll in its axial direction and shaft parts 2a at both ends of the roll 2 by means of bearings 5 and bearing cases 10 housing the bearings 5 consists of a pair of rotary joints 20 which are liquid-tightly and freely rotatably mounted at water feed and drain ports 2p at both ends of the cooling water passage 2h, a pair of pipe joints 30 which connect a pair of the rotary joints 20 to an external water feed and drain pipe L and a pair of shaft end covers 40 which cover the shaft ends of the roll 2, hold the rotary joints 20 and the pipe joints 30 and are mounted at the bearing cases 10. Drain spaces 40s are formed in at least the lower halves of the shaft end covers 40.
