PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pleat type filter cartridge which may be relatively inexpensively manufactured, has a membrane support of a structure capable of easily remedying the degradation in the flow rate characteristics of the filter cartridge, is relatively inexpensive and has excellent flow rate characteristics. SOLUTION: Membrane supports formed by physically perforating polymer films, imparting a multiplicity of rugged deformation to these polymer films and forming many grooves communicated with the recessed parts of these rugged shapes are used as the membrane supports of the pleat type precision filter cartridge composed of at least sheet of microporous filtration membrane, at least the two membrane supports, a core, an outer peripheral cover and two end plates.
