PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine stand provided with an illegal unlock preventing function, and a protective cover used for the same, preventing the unlock of a front face of the fame machine stand from being unlocked by a person other than a game machine controller. SOLUTION: The protective cover 1 is fitted covering a stopper 10, a projecting part 6a serving as an engaged part (a hook member) formed at a slider 11, and a claw part 6b. The stopper 10 and the engaged part are further surrounded by an inner frame 7 so as to be surrounded in five directions (upper and lower faces, right and left faces and the back face) and opened only in the front direction which is a cover door direction. The stopper 10 and the engaged part serving as the components of a lock mechanism are covered in box shape with the protective cover 1 to eliminate contact with the stopper 10 or the engaged part by means of an illegal instrument. Illegal lock release is thereby eliminated to provide the game machine stand with the illegal unlock preventing function, and the protective cover used for the same.
