PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information display device for an elevator capable of rapidly displaying the information an elevator user wants to see on a monitor device to supply various types of information to the user. SOLUTION: A selector unit 8 for a car 5 and a selector unit 11 for a platform 9 comprise selector buttons 8d and 11d for shortening the display time intervals of the information, respectively. When a user in the car 5 presses the selector button 8d, the image information, a teletext information, and a static image information inside the car 5 are switched and transmitted automatically from a message unit 4 in a short time interval and displayed on a monitor device 7 inside the car 5. When the selector button 11d for the platform 9 is pressed, the information is displayed in the same manner.
