The mail delivery tracking method has each mail item provided with a characteristic identification at the original distribution centre and assigned a data set containing a reference number and data characterising the delivery chain, before transport of the mail to the target distribution centre, e.g. via one or more intermediate centres, with scanning of the reference number and the source distribution centre at each point, for electronic tracking of each mail item. |
