PURPOSE: An apparatus for protecting walkers at a crosswalk is provided to protect walkers from an accident at the crosswalk and increase braking power of vehicles. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for protecting walkers at a crosswalk includes: a blue signal change sensing part(3) receiving an output signal of a signal lamp control part installed at a traffic signal controller(1) for sensing lighting and blackout state of a blue signal lamp for walkers; a power generator driving part(4) driving a lifting power generator(5) forward and backward corresponding to the output signal of the blue signal sensing part; the lifting power generator driven forward and backward corresponding to the output signal of the lifting power generator driving part for generating power required for ascending and descending a protective projection(7) for a stop line; a lifting element transmitting power of the lifting power generator to the protective projection for the stop line; and the protective projection for the stop line installed within a storage space(8) formed at predetermined depth having width and length corresponding to the stop line of the crosswalk and corresponding to the driving direction of the lifting power generator for appearing and disappearing through ascending and descending motion within the storage space to prevent wheels of a vehicle from crossing a walker division line(2) when a blue signal is turned on.
