APPARATUS FOR PROTECTING FINGERPRINT SENSING UNIT OF FINGERPRINT SENSOR

PURPOSE: An apparatus for protecting a fingerprint sensing unit of a fingerprint sensor is provided to prevent a fingerprint sensing unit from being damaged by a foreign substance and maintain a dual security by installing a fingerprint sensing unit protecting device at the front surface of the fingerprint sensing unit. CONSTITUTION: A micro processor stores inputted users' fingerprint information as reference fingerprint information and has a control unit. A fingerprint sensing unit(6) receives fingerprint information of actual users. An opening and shutting unit(8) compares the fingerprint information of actual users with the reference fingerprint information and may be opened or closed by a signal of the micro processor in accordance with the result. A user certifying unit(10) is formed at the front surface of a main body(2) and reads the user information being inputted in the micro processor previously and certifies the using of the fingerprint sensing unit(6). A fingerprint sensing unit protecting device is installed at the inner portion of the front surface of the fingerprint sensing unit(6). The fingerprint sensing unit protecting device comprises a shutter(16) opening or closing the front surface of the fingerprint sensing unit(6). The shutter(16) is hingedly combined to the main body(2) by a pin.
