PURPOSE: A PRT(Personal Rapid Transit) system having a linear induction motor is provided to simplify structure and to realize stable operation of a PRT vehicle by mounting a linear induction motor in the bottom of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A PRT system includes a motor drive member(81) and a reaction rail(82) composing a linear induction motor(80). The linear induction motor is installed in a bottom of a vehicle. For a smooth travel and shakiness prevention, left and right guide wheels(90a,90b) and guide rails(91a,91b) are installed. Branch devices(100a,100b) are prepared in the PRT system. The branch devices are constituted of branch electromagnets(101a,101b) and branch rails(102a,102b). A vehicle is guided in a desired direction by the electromagnetic force of the branch electromagnets. Since linear induction motors are installed horizontally, a void is kept uniform. Therefore, stable driving force is obtained.
