PURPOSE: An apparatus for realizing a computer telephone and a method thereof are provided to use a user's all communication devices with a personal communication number by unifying a speech call, a facsimile and an electronic mail into a single massaging box. CONSTITUTION: A telephone system(100) comprises a service server(102), a telephone unit(128), a facsimile unit(130) and a plurality of terminals(110,114,118,122). The service server(102) performs a remote communication among the terminals(110,114,118,122). Further, the service server(102) performs a remote communication between the telephone unit(128) and the terminals(110,114,118,122), and performs a facsimile transmission between the facsimile unit(130) and the terminals(110,114,118,122). The service server(102) exchanges data with the terminals(110,114,118,122) by using a data exchange protocol via data lines(136,138).
