PURPOSE: A plasma display panel and a method for driving the same are provided to enhance luminescence efficiency by using efficiently an energy for a panel. CONSTITUTION: A couple of trigger electrode(50,56) formed with metal bus electrodes(46,52) and transparent electrodes(48,54) is located on a center portion of a discharge cell. A couple of sustain electrode(44,64) formed with metal bus electrodes(38,58) and transparent electrodes(42,62) are located on both boundary portions of the discharge cell. Each transparent electrode(42,62) of the sustain electrode couple(44,64) is separated from the discharge cell. Each transparent electrode(42,62) of the sustain electrode couple(44,64) is separated into the both edges of the discharge cell. The transparent electrodes(48,54) of the trigger electrode couple(50,56) is formed only on a center portion of the discharge cell. |
