PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for measuring a position using a band spreading method are provided which measures a distance from a specific reference position to a certain point using a band spreading system and obtains geographical information of the point. CONSTITUTION: A distance from a specific reference position to a certain point is measured using at least three pilot transmitters. Information about the point is found on the basis of the measured distance. The information is transmitted to an operation center through a mobile communication network. Each pilot transmitter is constructed of a transmission RF circuit and a baseband spread signal generator in case of wired communication. The pilot transmitter is composed of a GPS capable of obtaining time information, a solar heat collecting plate used for power supply, a charging battery, a transmission RF circuit and a baseband spread signal generator in case of radio communication.
