PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vending machine capable of selling various kinds of merchandise. SOLUTION: The vending machine is provided with hanging racks 4 each having an endless chain 34 for freely rockingly holding hooks 38 for hanging the merchandise G, a chain driving mechanism 36 for driving the chain 34 and a hook rocking mechanism 40 for rocking the optional hook 38 held at the chain 34 based on its position information and posture information to fall the hung merchandise G.
