PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery easy to manufacture and simply identifiable in charging equipment, a charging method to prevent erroneous charging to a primary battery through identifying the type of the battery and charging equipment therewith. SOLUTION: For the secondary battery in which the electrode is placed on the upper portion and the bottom portion insulated to the side through an insulating layer, a conductive layer not connected to the electrode is formed outside the insulating layer. The charging equipment judges whether the battery in the battery box is the primary battery or the secondary battery, depending on the possible short circuit between the two electrode terminals through the conductive layer, when two electrode terminals in the charging equipment contact the conductive layer. In the case where the primary battery is identified, the charging current is regulated not to go to the battery. |
