PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lamp unit for liquid crystal display device of high luminance. SOLUTION: In a liquid crystal display device equipped with a liquid crystal panel having printed circuit boards in the X and Y directions, a lamp unit 2 to illuminate the liquid crystal panel 1, a lamp cover 10 to protect and fix the lamp unit 2, a light guide plate unit 4 to uniformly illuminate the whole panel with the light from the lamp, a back cover 6 to support and fix the light guide plate unit 4, and frames 7a, 7b to fix the cover, the lamp cover 10 is provided with slit-like holes 9 for heat radiation. |
