PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gamma correcting device for color liquid crystal display devices, a gamma correction method, and a gamma correction data preparing method which perform the gamma correction by using gamma correction data for every pixel of R, G, and B in which the luminance characteristic differs in a liquid crystal panel. SOLUTION: Each gamma correction data for an R, a G and an B prepared based on each luminance characteristic of R pixels, G pixels and B pixels of the liquid crystal panel are stored in each gamma data memory 25-27 for the R, the G and the B, and based on the stored data of each gamma data memory 25-27, the gamma correction of an R signal, a G signal and a B signal to compose a video signal by the gamma correction circuit 24 is performed, respectively.
