PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display is to inject liquid crystals into a large-scaled substrate at a short time and prevent a degradation of a picture quality due to a residual image. CONSTITUTION: The first substrate(100) and the second substrate(200) are faced to each other and spaced apart from each other by a predetermined distance. A plurality of optical transmission areas are defined between the first substrate and the second substrate. The optical transmission areas are actually formed in a rectangular shape. An optical shielding areas that are defined between the first substrate and the second substrate are bordered on the optical transmission areas. A liquid crystal layer is formed between the first substrate and the second substrate. A thickness of the liquid crystal layer in the optical transmission areas is thicker than that in the optical shielding areas.
