PURPOSE: A vacuum compression prevention apparatus for scroll compressor is provided to achieve an in-advance prevention against damage to hermetic terminal caused by a vacuum compression. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus comprises a valve housing(110) arranged to be communicated to a suction pressure area(Sl), intermediate pressure area(Sm) and a discharge pressure area(Sh) of a casing; a valve member(120) inserted in a slidable manner into the inner periphery of the valve housing, and which moves in accordance with the pressure change of the intermediate pressure area caused by the operation of the compressor and allows the suction pressure area and the discharge pressure area to be communicated with each other or cut off from each other; and an elastic member(130) interposed between the valve member and the valve housing, and which reinforces motion of the valve member. The valve housing has a suction pressure space(111) and an intermediate pressure space(112) which are sectioned by the valve member, thus forming a vertical movement space for valve.
