PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spigot type pipe joint capable of reliably performing sealing by compressing a packing only by inserting a connecting pipe into a joint body, capable of reliably preventing the pipe from slipping off by contracting a slip-off preventing tool, and capable of minimizing the flowing resistance of fluid in the joint body. SOLUTION: In the pipe joint in which the packing mounted in the joint body is sealed to the connecting pipe by being pushed by the connecting pipe inserted from an opening part of the joint body, an indicator 32 to be projected on the outer peripheral surface of the pipe joint with the insertion of the connecting pipe 40 is provided. A locking part 58 to be locked in the joint body even if the pipe is retreated and for holding the advancing position of the packing is provided on the packing 50. A slip-off preventing means for the connecting pipe is provided. The joint body is provided with a packing compressing inner surface 20 having an indicator hole 17 from which the indicator is projected and having the diameter smaller than the outer diameter of the packing, and a holding inner surface 22 having the diameter larger than the compressing inner surface. The packing 50 is provided with a pipe contact wall 52 to be pushed by the end surface of the connecting pipe, and a cylindrical seal part 53 for sealing a joint body cylindrical part. |
