<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image decoder that can properly decode a shape signal obtained by applying coding to a shape signal corresponding to a rectangular area including an object being limited to the rectangular area. SOLUTION: The image decoder is provided with a decoder 420 that decodes a coded signal 419 to output a significant area signal 421 denoting a significant area in a rectangular area including an object and with a decoder 422 that decodes a coded signal 415 to output a shape signal 423 corresponding to the rectangular area, and converts the shape signal 423 on the basis of the significant area signal 421 so as to correspond to the size of a block being a coding unit.</p> |
