PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a flexible liquid crystal display panel provided with flexible substrates composed of such an organic material as plastic with excellent patterning precision and at a low cost. SOLUTION: An insulation layer placed only on an SEG (segment) substrate is formed by cleaning a plastic substrate, subsequently by transferring an ink of the insulation layer material on a treatment electrode with a printing method and by heating and backing it at >=150 deg.C. On the other hand, the COM (common) substrate side plastic substrate is subjected to a heat-treatment with the same backing condition as in the case of the SEG substrate during the step to form the insulation layer on the SEG substrate. In this way, in the case of he pattern formation, when one substrate out of the pair of substrates is subjected to a treatment resulting in its expansion or contraction, the other substrate is also subjected to the same treatment regardless of whether the other substrate necessities it or not.
