PURPOSE: A thin film transistor array panel and an IPS(In-Plane Switching) mode LCD device are provided to reduce a driving voltage by respectively arranging a protrusion portion and a groove portion on a common electrode and a pixel electrode in a zigzag form. CONSTITUTION: A substrate is prepared. A thin film transistor is formed on the substrate. The first interconnection and the second interconnection are connected to the thin film transistor. A pixel electrode(300) receives a signal from the thin film transistor and is extended in a direction parallel to the first interconnection. The pixel electrode that is formed in a zigzag shape has a plurality of protrusion portions(250b) and groove portions(250a) in a direction extended from the second interconnection. A common electrode(200) parallel to the pixel electrode has the same shape as the pixel electrode. The protrusion portions and the groove portions are actually formed in a rectangular shape.
